Is beauty more important than spirit?

Spirit should trump beauty. What next? Only beautiful Soldiers in commercials?

Seriously though, the City Council President says he "now wants to leave the tree that has gained so much notoriety in place as a draw for visitors to the downtown area." So, in the end, it's all about the "draw" anyhow and not so much about beauty or spirit.
