Cost and injuries impact the function of a college. Could they make better use of the funds by lowering the cost of college?

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint When you look at how much money college sports bring in, the schools won't give up that money, especially big schools.

It is a mission distraction or and takes away from education. Are schools with a Sports Team cheaper to attend? I think community colleges show the answer is no. We wonder why people have big student loans?

Do you have any research to prove this? Since it would make sense that if you spend money on something that is not education, it adds to education cost. Those stadiums look like a big increase to tuition cost, that could hire more professors, or build more lecture halls.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint my comments weren't as an agreement or disagreement. It was merely a point that schools would not give up football. About 25 years ago Sports Illustrated published an article on the impact it had on schools financially. I don't need to know down to the penny to. Know it's truth.

46% of the football players that attend the BIG 5 Divisions graduate with a degree. For minority players the number is LESS. College football is a money pit for burning money, lives, careers and futures.

It makes sense that money burns in that costly pit.
