I haven’t made a decision yet but I’m leaning towards going. Any thoughts? Is Fort McCoy a good first duty station for AGR? 2018-06-05T17:30:18-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 3687588 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I’ve just been offered an AGR position for 36B (which is my current MOS) and my first duty station would be Fort McCoy, WI. There is Diamond Saber 36B training annually there. Next best thing to Ft Jackson for active duty training bases. We lived in base housing in Tomah so it was a short drive to work. I know there were working on building more housing on South Post but not sure where they are with that. There is not a lot to do on the base but it can get quite busy during training season. Winters can be extremely cold but summers are beautiful. Tomah and Sparta are the two nearest towns with populations around 8,000 each. It was a good assignment for my family and me. I work with 36B AGRs. It’s AC/RC combined up here. It’s very rural and cold in the winter but I’ve enjoyed my three years here.
