Is it acceptable for a civilian to be wearing military clothing in public? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-acceptable-for-a-civilian-to-be-wearing-military-clothing-in-public

I received a pair of USMC pants when I went outdoors and my other pants were not appropriate outdoor wear and was wondering if it was acceptable to wear them in public? The reason being is I find them rather comfortable, but if it’s not acceptable to wear in public I’ll just wear around the house. There are not any patches or anything on them and I wouldn’t wear them with any other military clothing, probably a graphic T and tennis shoes, thank you for answering. As long as you're not putting together a FULL uniform and trying to pass yourself off as a currently serving member of the military or a veteran no one should hassle you about it. Wear what you want. If it's a shirt, or the pants, meh. As long as they arent trying to represent themselves as something they aren't it's not a big deal (to me.) Most people never say anything about it. Occasionally I get someone that is former military will say something and we establish a relationship. BTW I bought both of them. If a young person asks about military service then I will encourage them to go into the military. That jacket may be worn (without matching trousers), but may not have any branch ID, like USMC, or any unit patches, rank insignia or even a name tag.
I have to agree with the "no military patches/devices". That stuff belongs to the Military, but I think you do have the right to wear YOUR name tag --- If you REALLY want to.

P S -- I wear a U S Army belt in combination with a USMC buckle, just as my personal reminder of my service. Just remember though-the folks who wear it to work everyday worked VERY dang hard to earn the 'Eagle-Globe and Anchor' insignia that's worked into the pattern... and take a pretty dim view on people who wear it without belonging to the club (and probably those who wear it incorrectly even if they do).

Hey, Woodland pattern is pretty much "vintage" now...and for the moment, "unbranded".
