I would also consider it a form of a brace. I had a shoulder injury and that was a form of treatment that Army medical professionals treated me with. But in all honesty I'm sure that it is either a cross fitter or someone that thinks it's going to help them pass. If you don't stop it you will see people with that tape covering them body. Then with you get one guy go down with an heat injury and he covered most his back with it you will see how dumb it gets. It's a fad. Plus or doesn't present a professional appearance on uniform.

LTC Paul Labrador - I have degenerative Hypertrophy in my left shoulder. While I way deployed my shoulder just gave out one day. It took me months of rest and doing my own PT to get it right again. I will say that the Kinesiology Tape did help with stabilizing my shoulder. At the time I didn't know what was up with my shoulder. After a ortho MRI that is when I find what was up. I never used it for anything else but if it is used properly for certain cases it can help. But just throwing it on as so many do doesn't guarantee it will help.

With all the added weight we are putting on our Soldiers these days, this is a good discussion for looking into low tech ways of helping to take up the strain on the back. I never had knee or back problems in my early years, the problems I experienced after deployment was attributed to my age. I think the fact that I was leaping about the countryside weighing a little over 300 lbs might have had something to do with it. We are breaking young Soldiers at an alarming rate.

Wow, read that again. That means if you have any watches or rings on, you have to take them off, since they're not a prescribed component of the IPFU or ACU or commander authorized civilian clothing....

You can not wear it unless it is written in your medical profile. It's pretty simple.
