Was he wrong for wearing it? Yes. Is he going to get shotgun blasted in the face for it? Unlikely, especially at a wedding. Definitely a learning moment. So is it bad? Yeah. But more a &quot;Private moment&quot; than anything else.<br /><br />Wear.<br />(1) Corporals and above may wear the service cap as an optional headgear with the blue uniform. The beret is the primary headgear worn with the service uniform by all Soldiers unless the commander directs wear of the service cap (for corporal and above). When I hear &quot; service cap&quot; I picture the old &quot; bus driver&quot; hat that went with the old dress greens. Ok, I get it&#39;s not authorized for SPC and below, but I don&#39;t see it as a major infraction. It&#39;s not like he was decked out like some PX Ranger. Give the EM a counselling statement and move on.
