CPO Tim Dickey 274273 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am curious about this topic based on the recent issue of a U.S. Air flight attendant refusing a request from a 1SG to hang up his Class A uniform coat. Is it common for a Special Forces Soldier to be assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment? 2014-10-11T22:13:33-04:00 CPO Tim Dickey 274273 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am curious about this topic based on the recent issue of a U.S. Air flight attendant refusing a request from a 1SG to hang up his Class A uniform coat. Most SF Soldiers stay in the community, but will occasionally go outside for broadening assignments. Last report I heard was that he is a NG Soldier in a ROTC BN... SF is, after all a pretty rank heavy organization, and there are only so many slots for command positions like 1SG, CSM, etc. Response by SGT Richard H. made Oct 11 at 2014 11:57 PM 2014-10-11T23:57:56-04:00 2014-10-11T23:57:56-04:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 385407 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As stated already there are not SF soldiers in Ranger Regt. Most of the slots there are 11 series and "V" coded. There shouldn't be any 18 series slots there. The unit isn't composed to have any. It would not make it possible. A soldier there could be SF qualified if he left SF and went back 11 series. I could see this for a 11Z or an 11A. Some also go back to regular units and help strengthen the leadership positions. Your mention of the soldier on the fight is clouding my answers, I’m trying to determine what it really is that you want to know. Can you clarify both your question and statement. They are two opposite sides of USASOC with very different missions. This may be a case of &quot;Tab vs Scroll&quot;. Ranger qualified and A Ranger are two very different things. There is very rare mixing of SF and Batt. I cant even fathom trying to determine which beret would be worn, let alone an 18 being assigned at Regt. It just doesnt happen. Regt then becoming SF, sure. But there arent 18 slots at Regt. Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 24 at 2019 9:42 PM 2019-02-24T21:42:08-05:00 2019-02-24T21:42:08-05:00 2014-10-11T22:13:33-04:00
