Is it common for Prior Service to get to reclassify upon re-enlisting?

Please don’t go 11B! You got out and didn’t find anything as a 11B right? That’s your reason for enlisting again

Yes it is I mean you can probably still reenlist infantry but you will need to attend MOS Q probably.

It really depends on the “needs of the Army”, during the draw down a retread (prior service) was lucky if he was even allowed to come back in. But in the times of conflict and the need for bodies the choices open up. When I came back in in 2005, I walked right back into my old mos 31b (MP), and did not have to go back to training because I worked as a police officer. I was lucky
