PFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member I fly the American flag at my home. I would not fly the American flag from my vehicle, I do not like to see the American flag displayed this way, but do not think that it is being disrespectful.

I see nothing disrespectful about flying the flag on the back of a truck as long as it isn't tattered. I have 11 inch flag magnets on the front doors of my car...And 11 inch American Legion emblems on the back doors...

Disrespectful to whom? I have a small one on my dash and if someone is insulted by my flag they are welcome to go screw themselves. This is America and if our flag bothers you you are welcome to hit the road.

with a Ford or Chevy you have to show the Flag because of all of the trucks that Ford and Chevy sold to Hitler - if you have a Dodge or a Jeep, you don't need to because a Dodge truck is an American Flag - a German soldier in WWII who captured a Dodge truck would give up his comrades before he gave up that Dodge truck

Flags are supposed to be flown in a place of respect --meaning a flagpole or a lit space free from dirt and grime. They are supposed to be above the ground and high for people to see and appreciate. I think flying a flag in the back of a truck is disrespectful. People don't look at a flag zooming down the street and get a feeling of honor and pride --they usually look of it and think 'rednecks' Is that the kind of feeling you want paired with the flag. Put it in a place of honor, like a flagpole.

I think flying it on a vehicle like this for a particular event is okay such as a July 4th parade or a similar event. This image shown would have the flag laying on/in the bed of the truck when not moving, it should be positioned higher so that does not happen.

It is my understanding, if the flag is flying in the back of a truck, or Jeep with at least a 4in lift and being driven by large farm looking fellows with ladies wearing bathing suits, or Daisy Dukes, it is best to allow it.
There is a cooler in there somewhere that may have been touched. If so, telling said farm boys they should not fly the flag that way may not be healthy. But go ahead and say something if you feel strongly about it. Please video the encounter and post it here.

the best versions are in the 'tanks in town' videos - with the typical vehicle the M3 Halftrack full of men women and children flying the largest American Flag you ever saw on a vehicle, and none of the people riding the halftrack are Americans - they are French, Belgian, and Dutch and they are celebrating Us!

I think this is spectacular. I think showing pride in Old Glory and what she stands for is a good thing. After all, if it were the stars and bars everyone would be up in arms. For the record, although I am not a fan of the stars and bars, I think people have just as much right to fly it as I have in flying old glory, or choosing to not fly a flag at all. I think what I will do is to fly the POW/MIA flag because it honors my father and his legacy. That is more meaningful for me as a truck owner.
