There&#39;s no one to answer to. There&#39;s no one to blame but yourself. If something doesn&#39;t get done it&#39;s all your fault. Everything can be set as you like it. There&#39;s no need to compromise. Pants are entirely optional. <br /><br />On the flipside it can get lonely sometimes. Everything falls on you, which could be good or bad depending on the type of person you are. <br /><br />I guess it really depends on whether you&#39;re an independent person or whether you tend to be co-dependent. Happy to have the control over the house and finances both. Some of my siblings are single after one or two divorces and some are still married so I am not isolated in the sense that I am not the only single person in my family either. I find it incredibly easy being by myself. But I have children. I love my children. I would find it incredibly unbearable if I had to live by myself knowing my kids were living somewhere without me.
