There are over 1.4M Americans with a Top Secret clearance, and there really is no such thing as a good paying job that is easy to get (otherwise more would apply to it, and it wouldn't be easy any more!). Having a Top Secret clearance will help you be more competitive for certain jobs though.Response by LTC Yinon Weiss made Jul 17 at 2015 2:21 PM2015-07-17T14:21:11-04:002015-07-17T14:21:11-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member823108<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>ClearanceJobs and USAJobs drool over vets with TS-SCI. It took me awhile to get a decent job. Now companies are starting to realize military vts are more reliable. I know a few by me are now hiring vets only. When I got out I was snubbed more times than not. I had TS and well I just now after 22yrs with the City make 15.00 hr and thats with longevity pay.Response by SN Victoria Glover made Jul 17 at 2015 8:09 PM2015-07-17T20:09:33-04:002015-07-17T20:09:33-04:00HN Israel Soto Alicea824076<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is extremely competitive to get a good paying good with a TS. I know a few friends who pursued a career in Private Investigator or Executive Protection and got some good paying contracts by having a TS. Maybe something worse checking into in your town. I help a lot of veterans open up protective service social enterprises with a TS background and they compete well with their more experienced counter parts.Response by HN Israel Soto Alicea made Jul 17 at 2015 10:17 PM2015-07-17T22:17:27-04:002015-07-17T22:17:27-04:00SrA Joshua Hagler845044<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes, you can get a orderly job at any government agency or company that works with the government making about 80gs a year or more with that TSResponse by SrA Joshua Hagler made Jul 26 at 2015 2:26 PM2015-07-26T14:26:13-04:002015-07-26T14:26:13-04:00SPC Robert Patrick852274<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Battle I would advise that seeing as you are intel you should look into the intel community. NSA, CIA, DIA, and FBI. I am currently transitioning out and I know of some individuals from those agencies who are looking to hire vets with experience.Response by SPC Robert Patrick made Jul 29 at 2015 9:48 AM2015-07-29T09:48:22-04:002015-07-29T09:48:22-04:00SSG Warren Swan852308<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not to be the "Negative Nancy" I'm going to say no. Just because you have a TS doesn't guarantee you a job like it used to. There are MANY servicemembers being sent home due to sequestration and while there are jobs available, for every one job out there, it has five to ten folks applying for it. Your resume is going to sell you, so I'd focus on making sure that it fully reflects the job(s) you are looking for, and that it has quantifiable and verifiable items on it. The clearance should you get the job is just a negotiating tool to put you over the hump. I'd also recommend before ETSing, you make sure that your clearance is up to date as best you can. Check with your SSO and see how long can it last inactive and unused. Also if you plan on moving to the DC area, realize there are LOADS of cleared folks here, so the job market is more competitive. If not look into other areas of the country where there is less of a cleared population (job wise), and put your skills and clearance to work for you there.Response by SSG Warren Swan made Jul 29 at 2015 10:05 AM2015-07-29T10:05:38-04:002015-07-29T10:05:38-04:00PFC Cliff Green878704<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Easy no, can you get one yes. all depends on where you applyResponse by PFC Cliff Green made Aug 10 at 2015 1:53 PM2015-08-10T13:53:18-04:002015-08-10T13:53:18-04:00Ashley White1163044<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Contact me at [login to see] !
