SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5222562 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So i dont have issued gear such as the basic training boots they issue, body armor and camel back. Like most fresh privates i got rid of all that crap when i graduated BCT 4 years ago. Question is since im making the switch to full time and reclassing, would it be ok to bring my own ocp plate carrier, my own boots, a different camel back and sewn on uniforms ? I dont want to seem like an individual when i get to Benning. Is it frowned upon for bringing my own gear? 2019-11-10T18:55:46-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 5222562 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So i dont have issued gear such as the basic training boots they issue, body armor and camel back. As for your plate carrier, even after school most units/commands will not authorize non-issue protective gear for use while training. It simply isn&#39;t guaranteed to meet minimum standards, meaning it&#39;s unsafe. When I went in, it was the cloths you were wearing, gym shoes, a change of underwear, and a very basic shaving kit. Even your street cloths will go into storage once they give you your basic issue. Save your money, use what&#39;s issued and wait until you get to your unit to get all that cool tactical gear. Everything you need will be issued to you from CIF when you arrive, just like your first time. <br /><br />Good luck.
