I am prior service HR(42A) and I am currently waiting on getting my order January, but I received a call from a Department of Defense inspector, to answer question in order to get a background check done and provide with point of contacts as well. My question is, this investigation is it normal for prior service because I don’t recall ever doing one on my first enlistment. <br />Thanks in advanceIs it normal for prior service to receive a call from a DoD inspector to answer questions in order to get a background check done?2019-10-22T13:05:02-04:00SPC Jeffrey Tamayo5154573<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello everyone, I have a simple question. You did it on your first enlistment, you filled out the paperwork with the re rating station. It is likely your break in service is short enough that your update will not be challenging, unless of course you have a disqualifying issue.Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Oct 22 at 2019 1:29 PM2019-10-22T13:29:33-04:002019-10-22T13:29:33-04:00MSG Gary Eckert5154798<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>While a re-investigation is normal, I would ask to meet with the investigator in person so you can verify their credentials before providing personnel information. While it is unlikely that this is some type of phishing expedition, identity theft is real.Response by MSG Gary Eckert made Oct 22 at 2019 2:28 PM2019-10-22T14:28:23-04:002019-10-22T14:28:23-04:00MSgt Private RallyPoint Member5154838<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Usually your first enlistment you are right out of high school so your background isn’t as complicated. Once you have lived more places and done actual interesting stuff it takes a bit longer and they usually come to ask questions. I’ve always had them come and ask me questions personally.Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 22 at 2019 2:40 PM2019-10-22T14:40:18-04:002019-10-22T14:40:18-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member5154876<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Verifying that your security clearance is valid.<br />Don't worry about it, so long as you didn't do something to louse it up, it is routine.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 22 at 2019 3:00 PM2019-10-22T15:00:53-04:002019-10-22T15:00:53-04:00CW4 Craig Urban5156261<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>YesResponse by CW4 Craig Urban made Oct 23 at 2019 2:26 AM2019-10-23T02:26:23-04:002019-10-23T02:26:23-04:002019-10-22T13:05:02-04:00
