Is it ok for "Males" to wear civilian clothing on liberty?

I was wondering under the UCMJ is it OK for people who are registered male to wear skirts and dresses while on liberty?

Personally, I think it's just fine --providing they have complimentary jewelry, accessories, and nice shoes. However, I don't think fashion is covered in the UCMJ.

We don't have "registered" Males or Females.

But, let's reverse the question. Can Females wear "Male Attire when on Liberty?" That question cannot be answered, because it is too Subjective. Pants, socks, shirt, etc.

The real question is: "Is this outfit within the parameters of Appropriate Liberty Attire according to the regulations"

In the USMC we have regulations which state what may and may not be worn. Things like partial uniform items may not be worn. If belt loops are present, a belt MUST be worn. Males may not wear earrings. These are merely examples.

Civilian attire, on liberty (as opposed to Leave), is a privilege, and we must conform to the applicable service regulation. Each service is a little different however. I do not believe the UCMJ itself has any specific Article which prohibits wearing of an article of clothing, so this would fall under "failure to follow an order or regulation, et al"

So to really answer your question, go to the Navy Regulation regarding Uniforms, and then the section regarding Civilian Attire while on liberty.

I really don't want to be labeled as a "extremist fanatic hate monger" for simply stating the facts but in the Army, males are prohibited from wearing female designated clothing according to AR 670-1. If they are sporting the whole package, make up, shirt, cute shoes, etc. and I don't notice then good for them.

I wear kilts all the time and sometimes with underwear, which technically, then makes it a skirt. Would I be unsat?

In the Air Force every day is liberty. We only wear skirts or dresses if we are deployed and going to the Ranger Hooch for Taco Tuesday.

Every service has its own clothing policy so I will discuss the Army's.
AR 670-1:
All references to hair, fingernails and grooming standards cite 'civilian clothes while on-duty' however 3-9 Civilian Clothing talks about presenting a professional image while off-duty and outside your residence. It mentions that you represent the Army in and out of uniform and while on or off duty.
It goes back to the argument as to what is considered professional. ADRP 1: The Army Profession states that professionalism is driven by the culture. That still leaves much up for interpretation as we have no regulation as to what the culture believes that males/females should wear.

I saw this question and that photo and I must ask:
What are you ? I see dixie cup looking ear-whats-it-do and blue hair but I know nothing about cosplay and therefore always like to ask what I'm scratching my head at.
