If you can’t find an Active Duty assignment there, ask your branch manager to look for special assignments, such as AC/RC augmentee or advisor. You may also be able to get a two year assignment working with the presidential inauguration committee. You may have to cope with the idea of being at an instillation outside of VA. Remember, at the end of the day, you are a soldier and go where the Army tells you. Although they will try and help you, don't get your hopes up. Based on the amount of time you have been at your current duty station will dictate if you are eligible to PCS. COVID19 has caused PCS moves to be placed on hold so until some decisions are made a backlog is being created. Example: My brother was projected to move in the summer but COVID19 has caused that to be placed on hold. I believe in telling people the good...the bad...the ugly. Meet with the individuals that I recommend therefore you will be able to plan your next move.
