Senator McCain's daughter gave an enlightening, powerful, and passionate eulogy for her father that gave me a personal I sight of who he was and what America meant to him.

No. Sorry. Absolutely not. The enemies of conservatism are using John McCain to harass and embarrass them. Sadly, McCain gave them plenty of ammunition. I have written elsewhere that I celebrate McCain's service to his country and his act of heroism in declining an early release from the hell of the Hanoi Hilton. But I do not celebrate him or any other hero because, like all who earn recognition for valor, he also fell from grace countless times. Ultimately, his vote against ending Obamacare to spite President Trump actually spited America. So, as Anthony remarks in Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar", let's bury him, but not praise him. The good that McCain did will be interred with his bones and the evil will live after him.

Remember that neither candidate (Clinton/Trump) has 100% of their own party's love and support. There are still republicans who loathe/detest "The Donald." His childish pee-pee-pants stupidity at handling the funeral may turn out to be a nail in his coffin. Remember Don, you're a politician, you don't have to like him to go to his funeral...

PO3 Donald Murphy I see your point. For him this is unfortunate that the world sees a pettiness that may define his character to more lesser degrees.

We've met on this topic before, haven't we? And you still think the President is being petty? John McCain was more than his political enemy. He actively worked and acted to spite the President. The ultimate act of spite was to vote against ending Obamacare (and it was spiteful to America as well). The President had the flag lowered to half mast on the White House on the day of McCain's death and his funeral as is protocol and everyone jumped all over him for that. He had it relowered to shut them up. What will it take to appease you?
