Is it possible to apply for Federal OCS when you're already slated to go through State OCS? If so, how would you go about that process?

I start Pre-OCS next month but I don't really want to have to go through a year and a half of traditional State OCS if I can avoid it. I'd rather go through the Federal Option if it is even an option. My state NC act like it's impossible to get into though and I've heard they don't want to allow anyone to go accelerated.

Are you planning to stay in the NG? If so, I would say it’s not likely you will go to Federal OCS. If you would rather go active, you could probably get out of your State program and apply for Federal. Best thing to do is call your recruiter.

Most likely may be a funding issue. Also, accelerated has a higher failure rate than the other commissioning sources which may be why they are hesitant to send people unless they are pretty highspeed or prior service.
