Is it possible to be commissioned as an active duty officer while doing SMP in the National guard?

It's possible, unless you signed a GRFD scholarship.

I was a non-scholarship SMP who was later commissioned into the Active Army. SMP Status doesn't affect accession.

Yes, you should have the option of selecting Active, Guard, or Reserve.

Yes, I did it. As long as you didn't accept a GRFD scholarship when you contracted, then you can compete for active duty. Please contact me if you have any more questions.
