Is it possible to get back in with a General Under Honorable (GUH) discharge?

Is it possible to get back in with a general under honorable discharge. I have ask multiple people and never given a straight answer.

Possible, Yes. Likely, No. The GUH discharge is given to service members whose performance is satisfactory but is marred by a "considerable departure in duty" otherwise expected. In the face of draw-downs, there are more competitive DD-214's to review for retention. This type of discharge is typically seen when commanders didn't have the time and/or inclination to administrative separate you prior to EAS. Just shootin' straight with you, PFC Joshua Slater.

Most likely no, there was definitely a reason a general under honorable was given.

It is all going to come down to the RE Code, if a Recruiter will give you the time of day, what your MOS was, if they need your specific MOS, ect. There is a lot of variables in this equation but it doesn't look good.

There is not one "strait answer", it depends upon the reasons for the separation. That being said, in today's environment I would say it is extremely unlikely if not impossible.

I have seen a handful join the Reserves or Guard to get in as those recruiters seem to be more willing to work with waivers and then once you are in make the jump to the active side. Does not work for everyone but its a route you may want to try.

Ask a recruiter. Almost anything is waiverable, except BCD or RE4. Accessions and retention are not so good now, so that's in your favor.

Possible but you really need to answer if the military is right for you. It may not be and that's ok, there are other ways to serve.

You should talk to a recruiter. Enlistment standards are pretty tight now so I wouldn't count on getting a waiver. You might want to see if you can join the National Guard.

I think needs of the Army Trump everything. If you have a critical MOS I say yes
