<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So long as you are MOS qualified, you should be promotable.<br />Question is, did the item that caused the clearance to be denied have other ramifications? Most that I can think of do.1SG Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 29 Mar 2016 11:15:37 -04002016-03-29T11:15:37-04:00Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 29 at 2016 7:52 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Too add to the wisdom already imparted here, if you intend on making a career out of the military, you will most certainly require at least a secret. There was talk about requiring that for SFC, but I don't know if that is the reality yet or not. There are units that require a Secret or higher, regardless of MOS, to be a condition of your billet in that unit.<br /><br />BLUF: Find out what you need to do to correct the reasons for your denial, and try again in a few years. KEEP ALL YOUR RECORDS FROM THIS APPLICATION!!! Having that info at hand (such as residential history) will be very useful1SG Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 29 Mar 2016 19:52:01 -04002016-03-29T19:52:01-04:00Response by CPL Randy Bautista made Mar 30 at 2016 1:05 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Well if your mid requires a clearance you should be more concerned of being removed the promotion. If it's a requirement then it's sound like a chapterable offense or force reclass... Better work on the clearance before you worry about rather thingsCPL Randy BautistaWed, 30 Mar 2016 01:05:24 -04002016-03-30T01:05:24-04:00Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 5 at 2016 1:32 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you were in an MOS that required you to have a security clearance, and you did not, you should have been flagged with a code of EA. After you were selected to reclassify and completed training to be awarded that MOS, the flag would be lifted. <br /><br />If you were just placed in a position that does not require a clearance, but you are an MOS that does, you should not be promoted, as you should be flagged. Shoot me a message so I can ask you some questions and give you a solid answer.SGM Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 05 Apr 2016 13:32:47 -04002016-04-05T13:32:47-04:00Response by CPL Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 8 at 2016 10:37 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Watch out for the Catch 22 which relates to MILs, DoD Civil Servants, etc. to maintain "eligibility" for a clearance. So cleaning up the credit thing is a good idea along with anything else they thought disqualifying. If you are never eligible for a clearance, at some point expect the cattle prod.CAPT Kevin B.Fri, 08 Apr 2016 22:47:20 -04002016-04-08T22:47:20-04:00Response by PFC Jeremie Dallas made Apr 19 at 2016 12:09 AM
