Is it still possible to switch early from Active Duty to National Guard/Reserves? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-still-possible-to-switch-early-from-active-duty-to-national-guard-reserves

I've done research online but would like some insight from my peers who are also currently serving.
For the past couple months ive been thinking about going Guard and how/why it would benefit me in doing so. I found that there was a program (AC2RC) but I dont know if thats still going on. I have 2 1/2 years left on contract. Deploying next March through December. If they say no due to not being able to find you a slot you can request to go into the IRR and while that transition is happening you should contact a Reserve Career Counselor within the state you will be residing in once you come off Active Duty; for example I am a Career Counselor that handles the states of California and Nevada so you would contact me if moving to one of the states I named. Once you make contact you let the career Counselor know what MOS you are wanting to reclass into and what area of the state you would like your Reserve unit to be located. If you need more understanding let me know. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 22 Feb 2018 11:47:29 -0500 2018-02-22T11:47:29-05:00 2017-06-28T08:44:36-04:00
