Is it true that female soldiers returning from war have a more difficult time than their male counterparts finding jobs. 2013-12-04T12:51:19-05:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 15396

I read a report some time ago that there are 3x as many military women (veteran) out of work.. WHAT SAY U? Their major problems seemed to stem around cultural norms in their life, family, and workplaces. they saw the world differently and could not or would not accept what people wanted them to. I admired their strength and conviction. For instance I worked in IT while in the Navy and have continued to do so as a government contractor. Granted most of my co-workers who are veterans are males but I have had quite a few female coworkers who were veterans as well.

Now if you're talking about those with PTSD I can't speak intelligently on that as I don't have PTSD and don't know anybody who does (except for people I've met online), so I don't know their employment outlooks. I can say that I couldn't find work after combat, and have started my own company. It was a discouraging process, as I had never had trouble finding work prior to enlistment. I would be tempted to take my veterans status off of my resume and see what happens.
