I might be missing something but I was tracking there are 3 QMP boards this year and they are conducted in the 2,3 and 4th quarter of the year, which happens to be when boards are meeting. If they are meeting every month it is news to me. I also feel that it wouldn't be a bad idea. Why keep a SM around any longer than they need to be? I say if you don't screw up you don't have anything to worry about. The only thing that would change would be that the entire process would likely be more disruptive than having much smaller lists come out every month. The Army isn't welfare, people don't get a claim on a job in the Army just because it hurts them to get fired.
QSP thins out the ranks for stagnant grade/MOS and makes room for promotion. Those selected get the option of declassing or applying for TERA, and can still serve their time in a reserve component and earn a reserve retirement. The military can not be compared to civilian jobs. A Soldier can not be released from their contract because they came to the realization that the Military wasn't for them but the military can release a Soldier before their contract is over because they "hired" too many people at a time of war. Oh wait, it's a volunteer Army Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 29 at 2016 8:08 PM 2016-06-29T20:08:37-04:00 2016-06-29T20:08:37-04:00 2016-06-29T12:59:38-04:00
