The Army isn't prepared to switch in October yet and it won't be any more ready after a few months of quarantine Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 27 at 2020 1:50 AM 2020-03-27T01:50:54-04:00 2020-03-27T01:50:54-04:00 1SG Private RallyPoint Member 5706751

The trial period for the ACFT was supposed to go through the end of PY20..meaning Sept 30th. But, due to several reasons, including a delay in implementation within the Reserve Forces, the Army is not ready to make the switch yet. The data crunchers still need to access the scores and determine if they need to adjust the scores and publish the finalized standards.

You should ask your leadership chain this question. My expectation is (after the pandemic danger passes) is that APFT will continue to be the record test through October. I have heard talk of ACFT being delayed until 2022, but nothing official.

The new test will become a reality at some point. My suggestion: prepare for the new test. If you can complete the events without much difficulty, there is no reason why you would not be able to pass the old test Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 27 at 2020 3:37 AM 2020-03-27T03:37:30-04:00 2020-03-27T03:37:30-04:00 SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member 5707382

A few days ago a memo was pushed out saying march 17 was the last date you could take a record APFT. I'm not sure if it is because COVD19 or not, but I do not expect to take another APFT while in the Army. The next one should be the ACFT. But honestly, if you can score well on the ACFT you will be able to crush the APFT, so I would prepare for the harder test.
