I submitted "No ALC attended yet" waiver with my WOC packet and it went through. I finally have been selected to attend Warrant Officer Candidate School; no report date yet. What would you suggest that I do about ALC? Do I still attend or not? Would it be a waste of time? Or....? <br />I would appreciate your opinions. ThanksIs my scheduled ALC still required for WOC School?2019-05-15T14:12:59-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4637957<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have had a July ALC seat reserved since Mar 2018. If you want to become even more proficient in your respective MOS or soon to be AOC, going to ALC may be beneficial. Definitely a judgment call on your part. Most importantly, congratulations!Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 15 at 2019 2:22 PM2019-05-15T14:22:29-04:002019-05-15T14:22:29-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member4638314<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I didn’t go to ALC before WOCS, and I regret it and advise all of my potential candidates to attend ALC before putting in a packet. That being said, I agree with Mr. Enright’s and MSG Gould’s comments. You should go to ALC to make yourself an even better WO and provide better counseling for your future E5’s and E6’s and potential WO Candidates, but you don’t want to block someone else’s chance of their career progression. Tough call, but it sounds like it’s yours to make.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made May 15 at 2019 5:07 PM2019-05-15T17:07:34-04:002019-05-15T17:07:34-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member4639088<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Another factor could also be how many years you’ve had as an E-5. If you’ve been at the pay grade for a while you’ve might have already learned a lot of the lesson ALC would’ve taught you. If you don’t have much time in grade then it might be beneficial.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made May 15 at 2019 9:32 PM2019-05-15T21:32:35-04:002019-05-15T21:32:35-04:002019-05-15T14:12:59-04:00
