Is networking the key to finding a job? I found this article and wanted to get everyones opinion.

I do agree with it. It may not be easy but it takes research and work to find good jobs. If you talk to enough people and ask for advice and research the advice, you are ahead of the game. Nothing great is easy. It takes work, plus you may learn something new and by networking you are building your references.

PO2 Matthew Forney That is a good question for the SPC Mafia. They network constantly as do most NCOs. Knowledge is power, contacts are sources for referrals.

Yes! 80% of jobs (can't remeber where I read that) never are publicly released. Knowing people and having a network is vital.

Networking is the most important weather you are looking for a job or starting a business. You need to self promote or no one will see you. I didnt start getting job offers until I was promoting my business. That was my AH ha! momment.
