Is Osan AB or Camp Humphreys better for PCS with a family?

I just got notified I am going to Korea and I have a choice between the two places. My MOS is 25U.

If you can choose, select Osan. Both locations are great and are close to each other, about 20-25mins

Camp Humphreys is where it's at, largest installation outside the U.S. and only 55 miles away from the nearest city (SEOUL!!!!). On my way back over after 6 years, looking forward to it!

I would say Humphreys because they put so much money into expanding it. More options for places to live if you want to live off base and they got new schools for kids.

If I had a choice to be on an Army post or an Air Force Base... even though I'm Army, I'll choose to be stationed on an Air Base first. I admit the Air Force has better facilities than the Army does for the most part. The Army's getting better with much of the newer military housing, exchanges, etc. but I think the Air Force prioritizes their people's needs better than the Army does.

But I have no knowledge of Camp Humphrey's or Osan Air Base since I've not been to Korea yet. You'll have to defer to other folks for that question. Good luck to you in your next assignment.

I've been on both. Humphreys is growing and adding more family housing. Osan seemed more family friendly. Plus outside the gate at Osan is alot of nice places to shop and eat. Outside Humphreys is kinda o.k. but can be better. Both are close to each other and train stations to get you anyplace in Seoul.

Camp Humphreys will have better on-post housing for your family, a larger PX/Commissary and more MWR activities for your dependents. Both locations are close proximity to the subway system and easily accessible to Seoul or other major tourist areas.

I just left Camp Humphreys and it is expanding quick. You'll have a new bowling alley, new PX/Commissary, new movie theater. They were still expanding when I left.

Camp Humphreys hands down. I was stationed there as an MP. Great place. Osan is nice, but smaller.
