Is Presidential Candidate Jim Webb on your radar?

I have recently started to learn more about Jim Webb, he seems to be the only Democrat a Republican would respect. Does anyone else have more insight into this guy?

Webb is clearly the best candidate for the presidency. The GOP candidates are all bat-shit crazy and catering to the worst impulses in American life. Madame Clinton is a shill of Wall Street and the Defense Contractors. She is constantly attended by scandal. Bernie Sanders is too far out of the mainstream. Sen. Webb, holy cow he got a Navy Cross, a Silver Star, two Bronze stars and two Purple Hearts IN ONE YEAR. I love the guy and have since he told the SecDef to stick it back in the ‘80s

I am all in for Jim Webb. Not only is he a highly decorated Vietnam veteran (Navy Cross, Silver Star, two Bronze Stars & two Purple Hearts), he is THE voice of reason in this election.

I tend to be someone who looks at current facts about anyone running for office. Jim Webb's past is something I think all who have served can relate to and respect. But that's where it ends for me.
Jim Webb favors far too many things I disagree with:
Favors: Legally require hiring women & minorities (Read as affirmative action above other well qualified. Abortion is a woman's unrestricted right (No limit on when abortion can occur), Expand Obamacare, Same Sex Marriage, Higher taxes on the wealthy, Prioritize green energy, Stimulus better than market-led recovery (How has the last trillion spent worked out?), More enforcement of the right to vote (Read this as NO ID Cards) He does favor Gun rights and expanding the military.

Opposes: Vouchers for school choice , Stricter punishment reduces crime, Privatize Social Security , Support & expand free trade

Not much different than Hillary. His stances are fairly liberal with the exception to guns and military expansion. He opposes relinquishing control of people's SS to them and any free trade (This diminishes Union Power)......

Nothing new.

He's most certainly on my radar. I can get behind him on many issues, and he would almost certainly win a general election. I'm still more interested in Sanders, but Webb has a lot of experience with the realities of policy decisions and has a good head on his shoulders.

I'm not a Republican or a Democrat but I do love my country and I think Jim Webb does too. He's not my first choice for President but I would support him if he were somehow to get elected.

Yes, it's over a couple of years. Knew of Jim Webb, like a lot of what he says and has done. But then, there's a lot that I strongly disagree with.
However, I thoroughly enjoy his book "Born Fighting". It's the story of the Scots-Irish, their history, characteristics, values, how they're undervalued and even hated in elite society, etc. As a historian, I disagree with his characterizations of Andrew Jackson, especially in comparison to John C. Calhoun, but much of what he says is quite good. I would like to see how he compares Jacksonian Democracy and that populism to Trumpian populism, should he write an addendum today.
