This happens every year but usually I just take Benadryl or something similar and it helps.
However, this time, my new doctor has now diagnosed me with Nonallergic rhinitis and I'll mention it to my recruiter.

I don't need a waiver for this right? It says online that if it's not controlled by oral medications, its disqualifying. She wants to put me on singular but thats a Leukotriene inhibitor and that I know is disqualifying after the 13th birthday. If she does prescribe me this, I'd need a waiver but it's not for asthma. Would they still have me take all those breathing tests or should I ask her if she can prescribe me something different?

Basically, what do I do going forward from here? Is rhinitis disqualifying? 2019-03-26T14:21:00-04:00 PVT Private RallyPoint Member 4486653

So I'm enlisted and such and have a ship date but I've been experiencing some stuffy nose and coughing and stuff and went to my doctor. Generally that’s a COPD medication and I am guessing you don’t have asthma or reactive airway diseases. There are other over the counter anti inflammatories you should consider using and it’ll be a non issue. If you state to your recruiter you absolutely need singular to manage your symptoms (which is sounds like you managed pretty well without it before) you will be looking at medical waivers - and singulair will be a red flag as it’s generally used for reactive airway diseases so it’ll get scrutinizing a lot more. I am just forwarning you.

From a practical standpoint you can’t be shipping to BCT taking prescription medications, especially a steroid like singular. That said at BCT if you have rhinitis or seasonal allergy related issues you can utilize sick call to get appropriate medications and as long as your doctor who sees you isn’t a prick they’ll write an RX saying you can keep it on your person.

From a practical standpoint, my suggestions Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 26 at 2019 5:28 PM 2019-03-26T17:28:33-04:00 2019-03-26T17:28:33-04:00 SP5 Peter Keane 4487411

If it happens every year, you have been misdiagnosed.
