Is rotary wing unit and 160th Soar the same thing ?

The 160th is not a SMU, if you're on assignment to the 160th or Green Platoon your orders will say 160th. If you're on assignment to a SMU it will say something different

The U.S. government does not acknowledge which units specifically are designated as special missions units only that they have special mission units within the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).

However as far as SMU's the definition of SMU's as defined by the Joint Chiefs of Staff might help - A "special mission unit" is defined as "a generic term to represent a group of operations and support personnel from designated organizations that is task-organized to perform highly classified activities."
