Once at your first duty station, then you’ll be able to get an better answer. On the whole, what usually flies in ROTC/JROTC and what flies in-service are usually two totally different things. Chances are also good that your cadre has ways of ordering anything like cold weather gear that they think you might need. I would talk with them first. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 02 Jan 2020 21:32:29 -0500 2020-01-02T21:32:29-05:00 Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Jan 2 at 2020 9:36 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-rothco-authorized?n=5406736&urlhash=5406736 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Way to early to consider gear outside issue. The rotcho and the other fleece people seem to buy off amazon are definitely a different color. I can spot them a mile away. They are a darker brown than the official coyote color sold in clothing and sales. Don’t risk getting raked over the coals to save $30. It’s a fleece. You’ll wear it plenty if you serve/drill above the mason Dixon line and easily get your money’s worth out of it.
