I would say it gives us the ability to interact with those like us. I am in the National Guard and am not able to interact with other service members often. This is a chance for me to speak with and discuss issues with my peers and comrades. I greatly enjoy the experience here and only hope to improve it with my posts. Since discovering RP i now feel a part of a community. RP offers something for us vets that we didn't have much of in the eighties, and that is the sense of community with those outside the branch of service that we served. Being a Marine, I had friends in the Navy, but did not have the sense of community with other branches. I do get my Marine Corps fix a weekend a month but in between those drills, I come here to stay engaged. In this tiny town of about 1000 people, almost half of the people my age and older, are veterans. Now, 11 years later, I've learned about Rally Point, and have enjoyed and embraced the fellowship and comradery. I've found a place where I can safely land when and if I fall. Thank you, Col Burroughs and everyone else I've connected with here at Rally Point. SFC Richard Williamson Mon, 16 Mar 2020 09:31:52 -0400 2020-03-16T09:31:52-04:00 2014-05-25T22:14:49-04:00
