Is Selling Snacks and Drinks to soldiers by soldiers in the workplace in order raise money for unit events allowed?

Is there a regulation that shows that selling drinks and snacks to soldiers in the workplace by soldiers in order to raise money for unit activities (not for personal profit)?

Could you please help and provided the source with a army regulation.

From my understanding, I believe AAFES, or whatever store you have on base is the only authorized company to sell snacks and drinks,

So contact the local AAFES and ask if they will provide vending services for your location. From my experience over the years if they will provide vending machines, you can't do it. If not, you have a starting point but JAG would be the correct place for ensuring that you are within the legal lanes and have all the waiver memos and money handling procedures on file.

So I guess I meant to display this question not so much as selling but fundraising. There is ZERO personal profit. All funds earned with the exception of replenishing stock will go towards the unit.

I don't know if it's actually legal per regulations but we did it at El Toro. You could buy sodas, candy bars, chips, and burritos and sandwiches. Our Captain and Lt bought on a regular basis. I once saw an inspecting Lt Col buy a candy bar and coke so if it's against regulations in the USMC it must have been one no one cared to inforce.

Yes. Go to JAG for how the "donations" must be presented. I had one at our last unit and it was completely donations only, but it raised sufficient funds for the "cup and flower" fund. There are also monetary and fiduciary responsibilities for the funds holding and distribution.

Fund-raising conducted by organizations composed primarily of Army personnel or their Family members (including installation morale, welfare, and recreation activities, as provided in AR 215–1), among their own members (contractor employees cannot be members of these organizations), only to benefit welfare funds for their own members, and conducted in accordance with the general provisions of this regulation. These organizations also include informal funds, such as cup and flower funds, which must be conducted in accordance with AR 600–20.

Family groups have designation. I had the Soldiers do it under here umbrella of the FRG as long as the money was going back to the Soldiers and or families.
