Is the AF reserve a good way to complete your bachelors or possibly master degree?

I'm considering joining the AF Reserves to start and finish my college education. Has anyone successfully done this in their initial 6 year enlistment and would you reccomend it to someone else. Please only answer if you have first hand experience. Any and all input us appreciated, thankyou!

Try air national guard as a first choice and attend a state university. If there is not an ANG base near you go AF reserve. Most people use up their TA before using up their GI bill. Yes you can use the AF reserve or ANG to go to school. I did.

I was in the Army National Guard for a while and I met lots of people in college who joined just for college. The Reserve component offer great incentives such as TA, scholarships, space-available classes, GI Bill, and cheap Healthcare. If my main goal was to go to college, and pay for it, before starting a career I would choose the NG again.
Definitely expect to deploy once or twice though.

I think over six years you can complete bachelor degree. I'm working on my masters and I've been in twelve years. I'll be working on a doctorate by the time I'm getting out. The biggest thing to stop you will be the first year you can't due to training, pcsing and deployments.

That's actually a good thing. I want to use the post 911 gi bill and my recruiter said I get 50% of it in 2020 as long as I've served 90 days on active duty.

(Join to see) I believe you need to serve three years and be honorably discharged to get the full. Tuition assistance is $4500 annually that you'll use instead and save your GI Bill. That usually means you can take 7 classes a year depending on your college. With the credits you get from basic you'll probably have to only take 90ish credits for your bachelor's

WO1 (Join to see) https://www.va.gov/education/about-gi-bill-benefits/post-9-11/ I know I wont get the full gi bill, but 50% of the post 911 would cover school at the university of texas I think, or most of it. Do yellow ribbon schools waive your tuition if you have the gi bill, but the allotment isnt enough to cover the tuition?
Find out if you can get help paying for school or job training through the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33). You may qualify if you served on active duty after September 10, 2001, or if you're the qualified spouse or dependent child of a Veteran who meets these service requirements.

Your basic and tech school won’t count for 911 GI bill. Your seasoning days spent on orders at your unit training after you get done with tech school will count.
