A reporter asked Donald Trump if he would register Muslims. Trump's noncommittal evasiveness in either the positive or negative answer to the question created a small fire storm. Now Hillary Clinton has had over 900 emails on her private server that were classified. How many times has any one in the media bothered to ask Cllinton about her understanding of the management of classified information? Things are classified because of their content not because of the label "classified". People have gone to jail and lost careers for far less. So is the press on a crusade against Trump and ignoring Hillary?

I don't think that Hillary has been ignored.
I do think that Trump is very adept at keeping the focus on himself, and that Hillary is very keen to have the focus elsewhere.
Both benefit, so neither gripes much.

A few thoughts:
- 10th Grade civics taught me the basics required for a democracy: an educated and informed population (goes to schools and the media) and three parts of government (legislative, executive, judicial).
- The media have protections embedded into the Constitution because of the vital role they are supposed to play within our democracy.
- Fairly obvious that the main stream media play favorites in what they report, how they report it, and what they are not reporting.
- Becomes hard to have a lasting democracy when the media are not holding up their part of the job within our democracy.
