When I see anti-Trump media (or just shady anti-conservative media), I fact check it by checking a pro-Trump source as well, and try to put two and two together. Unfortunately, there's almost no such thing as factual media, and moderate sources anymore. I do the same with for both sides of the fence.

Issue is, the other side would usually not report anything that makes their side look bad......so.....in other words.....media is now (unfortunately) faith based.

I just have to say that I want to see the memo former Director Comey did after talking with AG Lynch when she met Clinton on the tarmac. If he's such a note making machine, surely he did one to cover his tracks.

If he truly did give a memo to the NYT, why wasn't it in the story too?

That is the biggest problem with the media right now, they write these story's but never attach any real proof to them and then run them. The average Joe or Joan reads it and thinks it is fact when it is conjecture. Supposedly there is a site that will be up and running by June that will fact check these articles.

Most of what I'm seeing is embellishment, innuendo, rumor, and misrepresentation. It reminds me of the classes we used to have eons ago on propaganda and how to interpret it and classify it based on the level of truth and accuracy represented in it.

Nearly all of what is put out has a kernel of truth, weather it's a word, phrase, or sentence. Then the media applies it's bias to it and turns it from news to propaganda, some in my opinion moves past the 1st amendment and borders on subversion in that it serves no other purpose than to undermine and weaken the ability of the government to perform it's duties.

The lack of instruction in civics in our education system makes it easy to stir folks into a frenzie with many not having a clue as to what authority and duties folks at different levels of government actually have.

So I don't believe they are pulling stories from the sky, I just think they are so full of shit that they couldn't report the news without putting a spin on it that they wouldn't know a real news worthy story anymore if it walked up and bit them on the ass.

Personally, Trumps tweet about "Comey better hope there are no recordings..."makes more sense now. If Comey tried to "get more resources" (you know like Clinton used to do) from Trump by hinting at that memo and got fired, well then Comey sealed his own fate. Comey had a legal obligation to disclose an attempt at obstruction of justice to the DOJ and so far there is no record of that happening. So...is Comey guilty of a felony? As they say...."The plot thickens..."

It is not just the media. According to Gallup the Federal Work Force's political makeup is progressive, left, liberal, unionized Democrats 39.5%, Independents 31.4%, and Republicans, 27.2%. Also according to Gallup, among those who are independents in the Federal Work Force, 68.4% voted for Secretary Clinton. That mean 61% of the Federal Workforce favored Secretary Clinton.

A leap of logic here, but I believe we have a toxic stew of political activists posing as journalists, and political activists posing as Federal workers. Although it is not an organized conspiracy, the net effect is that the media and some small minority of Federal workers are doing their best to essentially bring about a bloodless coup.

Before everyone accuses me of being a Trumpista "whack job"; I thought the slate of 2016 Presidential candidates was an absolute disgrace. I didn't vote for him, or her, or any of them. Furthermore, if the election were re-held today I still wouldn't vote for him, or her, or any of them.

Unfortunately, I believe we are now on a road, that will eventually result in the end of the grand experiment, A democratic republic of government of, for, and by the people. Instead the political elite will be embroiled in political soap opera reminiscent of the "orderly" transition of power seen in the Roman Empire. Intrigue and political assassination (figurative not literal) will win the day. The people will be led to ruin by bread and circuses. Mad men will declare themselves gods. Horses will be appointed to the Senate. And the Praetorian guards (Press and Entertainment elite) will be the key to power.

So, clearly I am an independent "whack job."

I think its easy to confirm/deny your question just by the responses from the RP members. Not too long ago any story on a prominent Democrat was met with denial, calls of racial or sexual bias, conspiracies, ect from those that on RP lap up any Trump story, allegation, or rumor as the gold standard of stated fact. It is evident that what we are all observing is the cause/ effect of draining the swamp. The Democrats have no power anywhere in America other than Blue Cities, Unions, Hollywood, Universities, and the media. Even milquetoast Republicans are shying away and joining their Establishment Brothers and Sisters. So the Democrat media establishment is doing what Democrats can't do and that is create a story, search for leaks or innuendos and cite unnamed sources has confirmed X when we all know the unknown source is a Democrat operative.

I read this from conservative blogger Erick Erickson yesterday:

"What sets this story apart for me, at least, is that I know one of the sources. And the source is solidly supportive of President Trump, or at least has been and was during Campaign 2016. But the President will not take any internal criticism, no matter how politely it is given. He does not want advice, cannot be corrected, and is too insecure to see any constructive feedback as anything other than an attack.

I tend to take these stories about the President with a grain of salt. We have seen key details of a number of salacious stories retracted within 48 hours. The media hates the President so much that they'll run a negative story about him without very much provocation. The news media in print and online as well as the talking heads on TV are in a Butt hurt tailspin, every time Trump goes around them to put out information it makes these Propaganda ministers less important. They all feel so threatened that they fall over each other to print UN-verified and slanted news report. The fact that they do this 24 x 7 weakens the days when Trump actually screws up royally. A clear mind only has to remove the name Trump from most of these reports to see the heavy slant and the occasional raise to see how the information is manipulated. This isn't new and has been going on since the 60's that I know of. This isn't even just about Trump or Politics in general even the local low level news stories get the same spin, manipulation and hype. Its a real shame that more folks can't see this for what it is worth and apply a realty filter to ALL NEWS.

Who is the Rasputin behind this concerted effort by the MSM to marginalize Trump? Only a delusional imbecil would not come to the conclusion that this is a well planned and coreograhed effort. Many names come to mind. But if I were to hazard a guess I would say that Obama's Grand Vizier - Valerie Jarrett - is the women behind the curtain. No you say? Really? Like I said only a delusional imbecil would not conclude that this is a multi-facted program - from SNL, to Colbert, to the print media, to CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS - all the reporting is singular in purpose and content. They attack Trump's weak spot - his ego - through humiliating him they elicit a response - and Trump - with his penchant for Ready-Fire- Aim tweets and off the cuff commentary - is always goaded into responding. I admire strategic/operational/tactical prowess (must be that Officer thing) and this concerted effort to undermine the Trump Presidency is well funded and orchestrated. It will only be defeated through a similar counter program. Unfortunately, POTUS just continues to play into Jarrett's hands. We leaned in Officer Basic School that in order to defeat an opponent you must know your opposition. Seems like Jarrett knows the opposition while POTUS is to busy reacting to stimuli intended to further discredit him
