Is the Army planning to come out with a Multicam/OCP M65 Field Jacket?

The army has had a field jacket since before WWII (I think the "Parsons" came out in 1938), and I know they made them in the UCP pattern, but I have yet to see one in the new pattern(s). Do we know if they're planned or if they got scrapped from the dufflebag list? That said, will I be allowed to a.) private purchase one or b.) wear my BDU/UCP one with FRACUs/OCPs?

Highly doubtful. I've got about 5 years in and I've only seen one, in UCP, at a yard sale. I think it was scrapped when the army went to its current Gen III ECWCS.

They did I still have mine in the closet! It was part of uniform issue. I bought mint used at DRMO sale at Ft Jackson CIF. Something I always liked about field jackets I even paid for my DCU version after returning from Iraq as I didn't have it to turn in at CI F. They're all great cold weather work around the house jackets!

Field jackets were phased out indefinitely with the switch to OCP.

All I know is the people who have one wear it whenever they can and hate the new stuff. I don't like too much extra gear, but good gear is awesome to have and use. I'd like to see it come back.
