You save money no matter what you do, you are close to work hence close to your family. The time you will sacrifice in your career (from Family) is countered a bit by your ability to be home for a quick lunch, appointment with the kids etc. The time traveled to and from work, again Family time. You have to look at the whole picture. I can't speak on behalf of Hop-town, as i never lived there. Not worth it unless you plan on keeping an investment property there or retirement. Hope this helps Response by SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 29 at 2016 1:32 PM 2016-04-29T13:32:26-04:00 2016-04-29T13:32:26-04:00 MAJ Private RallyPoint Member 1489071 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I own a house there and loved the community. I love the area and the ability to add value to a home is great. If you are going to be there for a while I'd buy. Response by SPC Rory J. The housing on Ft Campbell is legendary for being low quality (unless you live in the Woodlands or Cole Park Commons). To me there is no return on your investment living on post and it says something about the housing when they will let single Soldiers, retirees, and DoD civilians live in housing. There are many posts where there is a wait list to get housing. This post is not one of them.
