Is the housing market off post at Fort Campbell worth it for my wife and I?

I personally always proffered Government quarters. You save money no matter what you do, you are close to work hence close to your family. The time you will sacrifice in your career (from Family) is countered a bit by your ability to be home for a quick lunch, appointment with the kids etc. The time traveled to and from work, again Family time. You have to look at the whole picture.

My answer, yes, it's worth it and there's a ton of newer developments off of Tiny Town Road in Clarksville. I can't speak on behalf of Hop-town, as i never lived there.

I would say no, there is really no rise in real estate in clarksville. Not worth it unless you plan on keeping an investment property there or retirement. Hope this helps

I own a house there and loved the community. It depends what you are wanting in a home and community.

I bought a great house on Washington Ave in Oak Grove for $90,000 ($628 mortgage), that house here in MT would cost me $180- $220k. I love the area and the ability to add value to a home is great. If you are going to be there for a while I'd buy.

I currently reside off post here at Campbell and do believe it to be worth it. As a homeowner, I also feel like the market is reasonable as well

The community is great in Clarksville. Just don't move to Oak Grove. We lived there for 5 years and loved the area.

Yes it is worth it to live off post more than on. The housing on Ft Campbell is legendary for being low quality (unless you live in the Woodlands or Cole Park Commons). To me there is no return on your investment living on post and it says something about the housing when they will let single Soldiers, retirees, and DoD civilians live in housing. There are many posts where there is a wait list to get housing. This post is not one of them.
