Maybe I was just expecting something different when I joined, but from what I've seen so far it seems that the navy is too worried about stepping on other people's toes and less worried about what actually matters. I understand that we need to evolve and change, but for what, and why?. I've been told that orders right now are to "man the fleet", but it seems that quality is being sacrificed for quantity. I've only just graduated bootcamp, and it might just be my ignorance based on lack of actual experience and time in the navy, but I was just curious as to what some more experienced sailors thought about this.

Also curious as to whether or not the airman, soldiers, and marines feel the same way about their respective branches.

When ever anything happens any were in the world the first thing the president ask is "were are the carriers?" We get there first with with 4 1/2 acres of the most awesome power the world has ever seen and we know how to use it. So it's not a good idea to piss us off.

CPO Emmett (Bud) Carpenter - That all cute and dandy but until there are boots on the ground it really doesn't help. That 4 1/2 acres doesn't mean a thing to an insurgency.

1lt Rosa that's all well and good but if we don't control the seas you will never have a chance to put boots on the ground. You need us as much as we need you. It's all one team.

You're always free to set your own, personal standards if you feel that the Navy's are too low.
