SGT Eric Davis 3465518

I just recently join the national guard last month after a 7 year break in service and I haven’t been to my unit yet cause they are current in the mobilization process and I’m an suppose to mob with them later.I am new to the SSD1 training and things. I want to know how do I register for the course or doi have to wait til I get with my unit after we overseas for them to register me for the course? Is the only way to register for SSD-1 is through my unit or training NCO? 2018-03-20T21:45:12-04:00 SGT Eric Davis 3465518

I just recently join the national guard last month after a 7 year break in service and I haven’t been to my unit yet cause they are current in the mobilization process and I’m an suppose to mob with them later.I am new to the SSD1 training and things. Have you already attended PLDC/WLC/BLC? You will be automatically enrolled based on your NCOES completion and Pay Grade. Under current standards, E5s without ALC would be enrolled in SSD2, not 1. Usually it's automatic but since you came in after a break then you gotta get enrolled. I had to do it for a guy who transferred from the Marines. Once you graduate a level of PME you are auto enrolled. It also has an expiration time for you to finish or you get kicked out of the enrollment. Each level of SSD has a different expiration time.
You must go through your training NCO to get Re-Enrolled as he or she must contact your brigade schools NCO to get you back in the class. Get with your training NCO and you’ll get squared away. Get a CAC reader (Amazon or Ebay or anywhere you can get one). Install it. Go to AKO - under My Training you will see ALMS, ATRRS all that. Go to ALMS. If it's there, do it. If it's not, find out if you were grandfathered in or not. After that talk to your training or schools NCO.

Did you attend WLC before you got out? You should be grandfathered in if you already have that completed.

Since STEP started, SSDs are automatically enrolled - so SSD 1 you're automatically enrolled after basic/AIT. SSD 2 after BLC. SSD 3 after ALC. SSD4 after SLC. You can't self enroll anymore since STEP started.

I found an article about SC NG and it said that same thing. You need to talk to someone in your unit about it.
