I'm just sitting on Staff Duty, reading all of the available and approved documents and found the sign talking about "Prohibited Personnel Practices." There are a lot of things on this list of prohibited things that we've all seen Presidents do - I'm just trying to figure out how they are exempt if they are Federal Employees. For example, one thing that President's have done that is prohibited: "Coerce the political activity of any person."

The President receives a Federal paycheck, however there are many situations that they are exempt from because they are considered the “employer” of all federal employees as the head of the Executive branch.

Yes, presidents do. Understandably, this one does not.

Are you referring to the example when Obama went after a reporter from Fox, or the conservative writer when the government hacked into her computer?? I'm sure you have forgiven the previous administration but now you are on the ball ready to uphold standards.

I went back and read the question, and I didn't see it indicated either--and nothing to do with any administration specifically but only a general question.

LTC (Join to see) I'm glad this came back up. Where do you see any indication that I "forgive" any administration? As for upholding standards... isn't that our job? When exactly did YOU stop upholding them?

Congress is a co-equal branch of government. A President could no more coerce Congress than the Supreme Court.

MCPO Roger Collins I wasn't specifically referring to Congress or anyone else. But, if a President uses his platform to threaten a group or person or anyone to vote or act politically, they are coercing them.

MAJ Bryan Zeski Is that an expansion or are you referring to civil service, specifically? Further, can you give a couple examples of the threat or coercing them?
