Is the recent emergency action by TSA in Miami a sign of the need for better Airport procedures?

In Miami the airport was shut down, flights diverted and delayed because TSA airport authority lost track of a passenger with a "suspicious bag" while moving passengers from one check point to another. After several hours the man was eventually found and cleared. What if it hadn't been an innocent incident? I think this shows the need for better oversight.

TSA has been in need of replacement or complete overhaul for decades. There was serious consideration by the FEDS two years ago to phasing them out in favor of a contractor.

Oh c'mon, they have more important things to worry about.........like how big your toothpast tube is or taking away the water bottle you bought just outside the security check point.

Having gone through multiple WMD courses, I can tell you that those concerns are valid no matter how irritating.

I wonder if they were relying on electronic surveillance to keep track of their subject? If so then physical eyes need to be dispatched to potential subjects in the future, there's enough of them standing around. I'm sure it ended with a physical search of the A/P
