Is the term “check roger” considered to be disrespectful?

Is this a disrespectful way of saying “roger that, and go freak yourself” ?<br />When I was in the infantry an individual was nearly smoked to death for saying check roger to his squad leader. If you are dealing with a hardass then you may be corrected for using incorrect terms.
