This time is divided between the classroom and the field. You will have physical fitness at least M-F, followed by classroom time learning your MOS. Fitness training while in the field will depend on the instructors and the class schedule. Because your MOS is in the Medium physical requirement category, I doubt you will be doing much fitness training beyond the normal daily training. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 29 Jun 2020 03:07:00 -0400 2020-06-29T03:07:00-04:00 Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 29 at 2020 10:31 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-there-a-lot-of-combat-and-physical-training-during-ait-for-35m?n=6053353&urlhash=6053353

No. There is not. It's focused on intelligence and the coursework is rigorous, but it's not particularly physically demanding as compared to say combat arms. It's more demanding than say 92A school. The DS we had at the time of had us running MWF and doing body weight workouts/muscle failure/APFT/ACFT training T/TH. We did a set number of push ups and sit ups at the end of every training day before we were dismissed for the evening. We marched to our meals 3 times a day which totaled around 7 miles a day between the chow hall, the barracks and the schoolhouse. Evenings and weekends you could go to the gym.

Hope that helps shed a bit more light into the day to day. Like any PT, it’s what you put in. Its mostly coursework. You will be given the basic skill sets we use and will be evaluated on them. The worst part or should I say hardest part is interrogations. Granted I went through almost 12 years ago, but we did our daily PT in the morning and that was it. We did some field exercises that were slightly more demanding but compared to BCT or Deployment it is not overly physical. Of course there is daily PT M-F and PT tests generally every 3 weeks. There are a few combat-style training exercises but more just refreshers from basic. Field exercises are not physically rigorous. We did have some weekends off, but I remember training alotttttttt. We also got smoked a lot, and of course conducted PT 5x a week. But compared to literal combat a MOS it’s nothing, but you will have soldier training, and you will go to the field at the end. Unless they changed it, so keep in mind it’s been 12 years for me lol.
