Is there a RCP exception to policy for a prior service soldier for critical shortage MOSs? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-there-a-rcp-exception-to-policy-for-a-prior-service-soldier-for-critical-shortage-moss

As the title states, is there an exception to policy for RCP for a critical shortage MOS?

Basically, I got out 6 years ago as a Specialist with 8 years and 7 months TIS. I've spoken with a recruiter and I'm good to rejoin aside from my TIS as that currently puts me over RCP. My MOS is 35T, which as I understand it is a critical shortage. My recruiter dropped me after my RCP issue came up, so I want to know what steps, if any, can be taken to get me eligible for reentry? Not even in the mid 2000's when the Army was making exceptions and approving waivers for everything. While the RCP's did change a few times by DA, USAREC was not authorized to grant waivers (exception to policy) for PS applicants who were not eligible based on the RCP. Unless DA once again changes the RCP for your rank in your favor, Active Duty is not going to be an option for you. However, your RCP issue does not disqualify you for enlistment in a Reserve Component.
