It&#39;s got me to wondering, is there a regulation that would prevent a soldier from signing up for citizenship in these or other countries? What about security clearances? Would it hurt your security clearance to join a country that the U.S. doesn&#39;t even recognize as existing? Is there a regulation against gaining citizenship in foreign countries? Although as soon as the first politician is elected that&#39;ll all change. He couldn&#39;t obtain a secret clearance because of it. DoD follows State Department rules and regs. So your probably addressing the wrong department to begin with.
