She dropped her family care plan and a chapter 5-9 was initiated to remove her from the army. Shes going through phase 2 medical at this point and was wondering if she could take terminal leave to figure out the situation with her kids and a financial plan. Her commander is hesitant because he&#39;s new to the whole chapter process and being a commander in general. Is there a regulation stating that terminal leave is allowed upon a family care plan chapter? I&#39;ve had soldiers that I&#39;ve escorted myself and they both were allowed terminal leave prior to picking up their dd214 I just dont know the actual reg that entails that? Is there a regulation stating that terminal leave is allowed upon a family care plan chapter? 2018-12-06T23:12:42-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4188679 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So my fiance came down on orders to Korea for a year with her kids on efmp and already being a single parent with little over a year to ets . This is true for all chapters. Only voluntary separations will let you choose your own ETS date. Once she has that ETS date she can begin clearing and take whatever leave she can spend between her last day clearing and her ETS. For most people that is several days not several weeks. She will receive an honorable discharge, so she&#39;s eligible to take terminal leave from whenever her final out date is until her ETS. The Army is not authorized to extend her past her ETS in order to allow her to take all her leave as terminal leave.
