<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently on recruiting duty, just hit my one year mark in USAREC. I have been looking up qualifications for 79S and I read that SSGs may not have more than 2 years TIG. When I am able to drop my packet, I will be at 2.5 years TIG. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There is always a exception to any policy. You can submit your exception and final determination will be made based on the reasoning for the exception. Hope that answers your question.1LT Private RallyPoint MemberMon, 29 Apr 2019 12:32:44 -04002019-04-29T12:32:44-04:00Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 29 at 2019 7:10 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Technically, you can ask for a waiver, however as it's been pointed out the prerequisites were changed to promotable E5 only back in October.<br />If you're only one year into recruiting, then you have two more left to go. By then you should be getting looked at for SFC in your MOS at least once, if not twice by then. <br />If you are a good fit for 79S you would be getting promoted almost immediately after the Career Counselor course and wouldn't have time to develop as a counselor, that's why the prerequisite is E5(P).SFC Private RallyPoint MemberMon, 29 Apr 2019 19:10:40 -04002019-04-29T19:10:40-04:002019-04-29T12:29:05-04:00
