So I was graduated from the AFROTC program in 1985 and can only remember two other cadets . After 35 years I wonder what they are doing. Recently I wrote to the Detachment to find out who my other classmates were and was informed that information could not be provided. No explanation was given. But I am thinking it may be some privacy law that is stopping the Detachment from giving those names. So I have to ask is there a way for me to get those names?

You're right, the 1974 Privacy Act and other subsequent laws prevent the detachment from giving out that information. The only way I can think of for you to get that information is through networking. Find one or two others from your detachment and pick their brains. It won't be easy. I found one of my cadet classmates on Facebook recently. I will ask him if he remembers anyone else. Have to start somewhere. Thanks.

Edit and Tag your, post with AFROTC and your University and see who shows up in this discussion.

It is the 1974 Privacy Act. You might hit HQ AF with a FOIA possibly get a list of officers Commissioned that. Year.

See if there’s a college year book available on line. It may have a picture of the ROTC unit with names. May have photos of Professors of Aerospace Science whom you might contact.
